Microgaming raised the bar with Big Kahuna. It was the first online slot to offer not one but two different bonus features. It is a five reel, nine line game with a top jackpot of 8,000 coins. It has 12 symbols that make up 36 different winning combinations. It has a wild, a scatter and two bonus activators.
The game has a max bet of 45 coins per spin (9 Lines x 5 Coins per line). You can play it in eight different coin sizes that start at a penny. You can however get away with playing just one coin per line and still have access to all of the games features. This means you can get in on the action for just 9 cents a go!
Big Kahuna features a range of fruit symbols such as oranges, kiwi fruits and water melons as well as tribesman, a lizard and a scattered monkey. The Big Kahuna symbol is wild but there is a catch - it is only wild for the fruit symbols. The five wilds are also the key to the top jackpot of 8,000 coins. You can win up to 40,000 coins for the combo if you are playing five coins.
The second highest pay is 200 times your total bet for the five scattered monkeys. This can be up to 9000 coins if you are playing the 45 coin max bet.
On to the bonus games. The first bonus is the Volcano Bonus (Pictured Here). You are awarded this bonus by landing three or more volcano symbols aligned left to right on an active pay line. They make a distinct sound when they hit so you know if you are on the way to a bonus round. On the second screen you get to pick one of the five fruits to sacrifice. Depending on your choice this can award between 25 and 2500 coins.
The second bonus is even more profitable. The Mask Bonus is won by hitting three or more mask symbols on an active pay line aligned left to right. You are then taken to the Jackpot Part style bonus game (Pictured Here). You get to pick masks to win prizes until you pick one that reveals "Collect" ending the bonus game. Wins range from 14 to over 4000 coins.
Overall, Big Kahuna is a great game to play as it offers a nice 8,000 coin jackpot and the excitement of two different bonus games. Add in the scattered monkey and you have one very entertaining video slot.
