Big Break is one of those games that at first glance appears to be not very attractive - the top payout on the pay table is just 1000 coins. It is however a great game and offers jackpots on the free spins of 15,000 coins with a unique twist to the standard free spin bonus game.
Powered by Microgaming, the game has great graphics and sounds. It has a surfing theme with primates making up the top paying symbols as well as the secondary pick a box bonus game. You can play in a range of coin sizes starting at 1¢ and going up to 50¢. Max bet is 10 coins per line or 150 coins total. You can of course play just one coin per line.
The top paying symbols are the Gorilla, Lemur, Macaque, Orangutan and Gibbon. These pay from between 1000 coins (The Gorilla) to 500 coins (The Gibbon). The Big Break wild symbol substitutes for the monkey symbols only.
To make the game play on the base game a bit more interesting there is a Lucky Break symbol that only appears on the fifth reel. This symbol activates a left to right pay feature and also doubles any win it is a part of. This gives you a second chance to win on every spin as what might have been a non winning spin can be rescued by the Lucky Break symbol appearing.
The real sun starts with the free spin bonus. Hit three or more scattered Munky Wax symbols anywhere on the reels and you win 15 free spins. There is no multiplier on the free spins but there is a big twist. all of the monkey symbols become left to right scatters during the free games!
This makes for some serious winning chances. Hit five gorillas anywhere on the reels during the free games and you win 15,000 coins multiplied by your line bet (Up to 10) for a possible 150,000 coin win. It also makes the feature much more fun as you do not have to line up the symbols to win. Wilds are also scatters during the free games.
Finally there is another pick a box style bonus available during normal play. The Surf's Up bonus is activated when you hit one of each monkey on any of the reels.
