Moonshine Review

Moonshine is part of the 25 line video slot range from Microgaming. It features a family of hillbillies who are brewing up some moonshine. It features a two stage bonus feature where you can win up to 18 free spins with multipliers of up to four times for maximum winning chances.

As far as pays go Moonshine is a bit of a mixed bag. The top jackpot is 40,000 coins for hitting five wilds but from there the pays drop drastically to the second highest pay which is 2,500 coins. Many of the wins do not even return your bet back, while this is not uncommon it is also not so great.

If however you can hit the five wilds or three free spins with the four times multiplier Moonshine can still offer some serious wins. On the free games the maximum win in a single spin is a big 160,000 coins.

You win the bonus feature by hitting three, four or five bonus moonshine bottles anywhere on the reels. The amount of scatters that hit you hit gives your your guaranteed free spins. You then get to go to the first part of the bonus stage. Here you will see a grid with 18 squares. (View The Bonus Screen).

Under each square can be one of three things. One extra free game, a multiplier of one or a start free spins logo. There are a possible three multiplier symbols, three start free spins logos and the rest are free spins. You get to keep picking until you uncover the start spins logo. This can sometimes turn out to be a bad thing as you can pick the start spins on your first pick.

Once the start spins logo has been revealed you get your free spins. The symbols all change to a different state. At the end of your spins you are treated to a great animation of grandma and her shot gun announcing your total win on the bonus spins. The spins do appear to hit quite frequently.

Overall, Moonshine can be a fun game to play but it can also be quite frustrating if for instance you keep picking the start spins logo on the bonus stage first. It seems to be one of those games where you either hit big or you don't hit at all. If you are video slot fan it is worth a look.
