Street Fighter IV

The first Street Fighter slot from Cryptologic was an instant hit with players so it is no surprise that they have followed up with a sequel - Street Fighter IV. Like the original the game is based on the Street Fighter series of arcade game. As the name suggests Street Fighter IV is base on the fourth version of the game.

The base game on Street Fighter IV is a 5 reel, 25 line slot with a top jackpot of 5,000 coins. Max bet is 25 coins per spin and the max bet range starts at 25 cents and goes right up to $500 per spin for high rollers.

The Yin-Yang symbol is wild and appears on the 2nd and 4th reels only. It substitutes for all symbols except the Street Fighter IV logos. To win the top jackpot you need to line up five of the hat symbols on any active line. The jackpot on the base game pays 5,000 coins which comes in at between $50 and $100,000 depending on coin size.

The real draw card of this game is the bonus. Get three or more scattered Street Fighter IV logos anywhere on the reels and you win a shot at the bonus. The first stage shows four of the characters from the arcade game - Ken, Ryu, Abel and Chun-Li (Screenshot). You have to select one character for the fight stage with each character offering a different style of free spin bonus.

Once you have selected your character you move to the fight screen which is a scene from the arcade game (View Screenshot). Between the two fighters a range of attacks randomly appears. Click stop and one move is selected. The fight then takes place and you are awarded one of several outcomes.

If you lose the fight you get 10 free games. If you win the fight you get additional bonuses based on the attack move you used to win. Each of the characters offer different bonuses. These are as follows,

  Ultra Combo : Every Ken that appears adds 4 free games. Wins X3
  Kick : Every Ken that appears adds 4 free games. Wins X3

  Ultra Combo : All wins with Ryu are multiplied by 40
  Kick : All wins with Ryu are multiplied by 25

• Abel
  Ultra Combo : Free game total is multiplied by 15
  Kick : Free game total is multiplied by 8
  Punch : Free game total is multiplied by 2 or 4
   
  
• Chun-Li
  Ultra Combo : An extra 4 wilds are added to reel 2 and 4. Wins X3
  Kick : An extra 3 wilds are added to reel 2 and 4. Wins X3
  Punch : An extra 1 or 2 wilds are added to reel 2 and 4. Wins X3

We like the fact that you can choose the style of bonus that you want. Choosing Ryu offers the biggest potential single spin wins with the 40X multiplier increasing the top jackpot to 200,000 coins. Having said that all of the choices do offer at least double the jackpots found on the base game.

Cryptologic have done a great job with Street Fighter IV. It captures the theme of the original arcade game well and the various free spin options give it a lot of appeal. even if you never played the arcade game it is well worth checking out.
