Slots Guides

In the last installment of our Interactive Guide to Video Slots we showed you how to play online and outlined what all of the buttons do. In this article we take a look at one of the best new features of online slots - Expert Mode. Available at Microgaming powered casinos, Expert Mode offers a range of great playing options that you can use to your advantage,

Getting Started
To use this guide you need to have Flash installed on your computer - more than likely you will find that you do however if you don't you will be prompted to install it. You may also need to turn off your pop-up blocker to see the game window.

Open the Game : Click Here To Launch the Thunderstruck Slot

Finding the Expert Mode
Under the credit indicator on the bottom left hand side you will see three buttons that read Help, Exit and Expert. Click on the Expert button and you will see that extra buttons appear under the reels.

These buttons are Spin X5, Spin X10 and Auto Play. The first two do exactly what they say. Pressing the Spin X5 spins the reels five times at the current bet level, pressing the Spin X10 spins the reels 10 times. Clicking the Auto Play button opens up a whole new menu of Auto Play settings and options.

This menu lets you set a whole range of options such as how many spins you want to play, the gap between the spins and set win and loss limits. You can also set the game to stop on any win over a certain amount which is great for getting those winner screen shots.

Why would I want to use the auto play feature?
There are quite a few good reasons why this feature is worthwhile. Firstly if you play long gambling sessions you could well find that constantly clicking becomes a chore especial if you have arthritis or any other ailment. Simply set the number of spins and sit back and enjoy the action.

Secondly the Expert mode is quite a good money management tool as it keeps track of the amount of spins you have played. You can easily implement the "Play Through Once" strategy by dividing your bankroll by your bet size and entering that number of spins into the auto play options.

Finally the "Stop if .." option is a great way to keep to session limits. For instance if you have $100 and want to play $25 worth of spins simply set the game to stop if credits drop by $25 and away you go.

There is one more feature that is only available in the download version of Microgaming software and that is the percentages button. By clicking this you get to see your session time on that particular game, the amount of spins you have made as well as the three highest wins you have hit. Unfortunately we cannot show you this via the interactive guide.

Which casinos have the expert mode?
Today, basically all of the casinos powered by Microgaming have upgraded to the VIPER platform so you should not have any trouble finding it. For a full list of casinos powered by Microgaming visit our Microgaming Casino List. Alternatively we have listed some of the most popular picks below.
