The Indian symbols only appear on the 1st and 5th reel. Getting one on both reels wins 5 times your bet and the bonus stage. You get to pick one symbol at a time that reveals one of four things. Free spins, multipliers, Magic symbols or Evil symbols. You get to keep picking until you uncover an Evil symbol.
