Wow Pot Review

Launched in 2001, Wowpot brought with it the chance of winning major online jackpots for a relatively small $1.50 max bet. Jackpots start at $1000 but have gone well over $100,000 at times. Compared to the other Microgaming slots Wowpot offers one of the cheapest ways to make yourself a jackpot winner.

The game takes a common three reel, single line format and has a slight twist. It is what is known as a "Buy A Pay" slot. Most of the time slots in this category can catch out unwary players as they require max bet to be played not only to win the top jackpot but to have any chance at any of the higher wins. In the case of Wowpot the third coin is needed to win the jackpot.

There are in fact two different pay tables for Wowpot. The first pay table can be seen below the bright green pay table. This pay table covers all wins for betting one and two coins - you will notice that there is no win listed for three Wowpot symbols - this means that if you hit the progressive winning combo on two coins not only do you not get the jackpot you get nothing!

The third coin activates the top bright green pay table. All of the pays except for the jackpot stay the same so essentially you are betting the extra coin to have a shot at the jackpot. No matter how you look at it you should always play the max bet of $1.50 if you are going to play this game to avoid disappointment.

Much like Double Diamonds, the Wowpot wild symbol can also act as a win multiplier. If you hit one as part of a win your prize is doubled, hit two and your prize is quadrupled. The second highest pay on Wowpot is 1,000 coins for three striped sevens or 2,000 and 4,000 coins for the same combination with one or two wilds respectively. All other pays are worth 160 coins or less.

Update : Wowpot is now available in two formats, this three reel, single line version and a new five reel, fifteen line version. Both have the same chance at hitting the jackpot and both have a $1.50 max bet. If you like five reel slots then read our review of the new Wowpot Video Slot.
