You Lucky Barstard

You Lucky Barstard is an AWP style fruit machine from Microgaming. It has a skill stop bonus game and a top jackpot of 250X your bet. In a bit of a twist the only symbols on the reels are bars and while this might seem to make it very easy to win we found that this was not exactly the case.

Like all of the Microgaming fruit machines you can play in a number of credit sizes that start at 10c and go up to $10 (You can also play in Pounds or Euros if you are in the United Kingdom or Europe). Only one coin can be played per spin so you can be spinning for as little as 10c.

On the reels you have five different bar symbols. You have red, yellow, single black, double black and triple black. Wins start at 2X for three yellow bars and go up to 100X for three triple black bars. There are only six winning combinations which includes an any black bar pay.

It is luck there is an any black bar pay as the black bars are the key to the bonus stage. You need to get three black bar wins in a row to get access to the feature. Initially we thought that the bonus would trigger quite frequently but unlike other online AWP games it took us a while to get the bonus.

The hold reels feature comes in really hand when it comes to triggering the bonus as you can get a three black bar win and then get to hold the reels to get a guaranteed second or third win in a row. This was how we managed to hit the bonus during our review.

The good news is that once you get the bonus you are very likely to get the top pay of 250X your bet. It is a simple case of clicking stop when the highest win is lit up. (View Screenshot). We manage to get the top pay both times we got the feature so if you focus it is not hard to do.

You Lucky Barstard is an interesting game. It is not quite as exciting as some of the other AWP games simply because the bonus is so hard to win. Still it is one of the few games where hitting the top jackpot is quite easy. If you like AWP style games it might be worth a spin or two to see for your self.
