While Carnaval celebrations are held is many places around the world the biggest and most popular are held in Brazil. Typically held during February of March the celebrations include big parade with people often getting dressed up in masquerade. The Carnaval video slot is a tribute to this.

The game itself is a pretty basic 5 reel, 9 line slot with no bonus features. It does however feature a wild symbol and a scatter pay. The graphics are bright and colorful which is a good match for the theme.

Top jackpot is 5,000 coins for hitting five Carnaval logos on any active pay line. Interestingly enough there is a wild symbol but there is not specific pay associated with it. Hitting five wilds simply awards the highest pay of 5,000 coins. This is good as there are in fact two ways to hit the top prize.

There is a pretty big drop between the highest pay and the second highest of 800 coins. From here pays for five symbols range from 600 coins (Five Girls) to 100 (Five 10's). The scatter symbols pay between 2 and 50 times your total bet.

You can choose from five different coin sizes which are 25, 50, $1, $2 and $5. Max bet is just only one coin per line so you are looking at $2.25 at the lowest coin size and $45 at the highest. This makes the jackpot worth $1250 and $25000 at the lowest and highest coin sizes.

Overall Carnaval is a good quality game from Microgaming although we would have liked to have seen some sort of bonus feature such as free spins. Still if you like nine line slots it is worth checking out.
