The tale of the Loch Ness Monster began way back in the 6th century with the first sighting of the mythical creature in the Scottish lake. In July 1933 the monster was brought to the worlds attention and has sparked interest ever since. Now RTG has released Loch Ness Loot - a slot machine where you are guaranteed to see the monster.

Loch Ness Loot uses the 5 reel, 25 line format and has a 25 coin maximum bet. Coin sizes range from 0.01 to 5.00 so you can be hitting the max bet button for as little as 0.25 or as much as 125.00 per spin.

The Monster is the wilds symbol and substitutes for all symbols including the scattered Treasure symbols. Getting five of the Monster symbols on any active line pays the top jackpot of 2,500 coins. As the Monster substitutes for the scatters getting five on a line also awards the pay for five scatters and the free spins.

Loch Ness Loot has some nice mid level pays which is always good to see. There are two ways to hit the second highest line win of 2,000 coins with either five Boats or five Men. Third highest line win comes in at 1,250 coins for five Cameras. From there the five of a kind pays come in at between 500 and 200 coins.

The Treasure symbols are scatters but they only pay aligned left to right. Getting five scatters pays a small 25X your bet and getting three or more activates the free spins. Once triggered you win 8 free spins with all wins tripled. This might seem like a small amount of free games but there is a bit of a twist.

During the free spins the wild Loch Ness Monster symbols become expanding wilds. This should mean that you can hit the top jackpot on all lines for a * 125,000 coin win. This would pay a very nice $1,250 at the 0.01 coin size and a huge $625,00 at the 5.00 size.

Unfortunately this is note quite the case as the game has a max win rule which limits the top pay to 50,000 coins. While a 50,000 coin win is a nice hit it is disappointing that RTG has the max win rule. We're not quite sure why they don't just reduce the top jackpot so that the max win is actually 50,000 coins on the pay table as well.

Loch Ness Loot also has a Win / Win feature which guarantees that you will win at least something every time you trigger the free spins. The Win / Win feature awards a payout based on how bad the free spins paid with the possible wins coming in at between 150X bet for no win to between 5 and 150X bet for wins lower than 8X bet.

Overall, Loch Ness Loot could be a really great game if there was no cap on the maximum win per spin. As it stands it's still a good quality game as long as you keep in mind that a whole screen of wilds pays 50,000 coins instead of the correct 125,000 coins.
