There are countess slots with gold bars and bullion themes so it is about time that another metal got some sunshine. Sterling Silver is as the name indicates a slot machines with silver rather than gold as the main theme. The game uses Microgaming's 5 reel and 25 pay line layout.

The wild symbol is important on virtually all slot machines but it takes on even more importance on Sterling Silver. The wild logos only appear on the middle reel but they are stacked so you can get a whole reel of wilds. The reason they are so important is the fact that any wild as part of a win starts the multiplier feature where wins are multiplied by between 2X and a big 10X.

The three silver bars offer the top award of 1,000 coins for a five of a kind. This jackpot might seem a little low but it can be increased in two ways. first you can play up to 10 coins per line so at max it actually pays 10,000 coins. Then if you get the maximum wild multiplier it pays 100,000 coins.

Even better is the fact that it is possible to get the top jackpot on multiple lines if you get the stacked wilds. Five Silver Bars across the middle line with all of the wilds on reel three pay the top jackpot three times for a 300,000 coin win. Even at the lowest coin size this is $3,000.

Sterling Silver only has 24 winning combinations which is lower than most slots but it also has less symbols on the reels. After the top pay of 1000 coins the other five of a kind wins come in at between 500 and 100 coins. Of course the wilds make getting the wins easier as well as increase them by at least 2X.

The Sterling Silver Scatter symbol only appears on reels 2, 3 and 4. Get all three anywhere on the screen and you win 10 times your total bet and 15 free spins. Oddly there is no extra multiplier for the free spins - the wilds still work the same way but it would have been nice to have at least a 2X for all of the spins. Good news is that the free games can be re-triggered.

Sterling Silver is an interesting game. It can offer some huge pays but all of this is based on getting the wild multipliers. Without the wilds the top pay is 10,000 coins at max bet which is a bit on the low side. We would have also liked to see a multiplier for all of the free spins. Still a possible 300,000 coin jackpot with the wilds does make up for the negatives a bit.
