If you are using a dial up internet connection then the size of file
downloads is an important factor to consider when choosing an online
casino. With some of the casinos now requiring downloads of up to
10MB it can be a very slow process and can often lead to player frustration.
Microgaming have addressed this issue with the release of their latest
casino update.
Known as the MUP+ (Microgaming Upgrade Protocol) System the casino
software has been separated into parts. The initial download for the
casinos is just a touch over 1MB which is 90% smaller than previous
files.
The way this works is that you initially download the casinos framework
with only a suite of four games pre-installed. Then as you play the
games additional games are automatically downloaded in the background.
This means you can get into the action faster. If you want you can
register a guest player account and try out the games for free while
more games are added.
The MUP+ Systems is currently being rolled out to all of the 70 plus
Microgaming casinos and all should have the updated software by the
end of this month.
Overall this is great news for players for several reasons.
Firstly, it is a much quicker getting started and secondly this new
technology means that the limit on games based on file size is gone.
This is sure to see the amount of games increase dramatically over
the coming years.
