Interview With Tony P One Year After His Record Win

Last year on the 30th of May Tony P made online jackpot history when he hit $1,594,649.21 on Microgaming's Major Millions slot machine. Recently is record was finally broken by Ronald H but Tony is not fussed by this. He still gets to say he was the first ever online gambler to win over a million.

Jackpot Madness, the Microgaming progressive jackpot portal was lucky enough to catch up with Tony a year on and he was happy to answer the questions that most of us would love to hear. Below are parts of this interview.

Did You Make Any Big Purchases?
"I haven’t bought a new car since 1976, This is NIssan 350Z my very first NEW car in more than twenty years. It is the most beautiful car! We also helped a family member with a financial situation. We gave several gifts to other family members, and took care of our children’s college education funds.

As for big purchases for ourselves, we really don’t need anything. We have been married for 30 years and have 3 children, so helping them out with their needs is the best purchase I can make. We've been very practical when deciding what to do with the money."

Has The Win Changed Your Life?
"My win has definitely provided my family with security. But I am 51 years old and can’t just sit around the house. I like my job and enjoy the company of those whom I work with. I am pretty private about the win and just want to be able to enjoy my family and my daily activities. Having people label me as the 'millionaire' has not been an issue and I haven’t noticed anything in particular about my friends and family’s treatment towards me."

Do You Still Play The Progressives?
"Yes, once in a while we still give them a spin. We haven’t played Major Millions since then, but we do play the other progressives. In fact, I spoke to Ronald H. who was the most recent Major Millions Millionaire. I hope his experiences will prove to be just as positive as mine."

Any More Vacations Since Monte Carlo?
No, while we planned to go on a cruise we have not yet gone. My wife is worried about getting seasick, so we have postponed it. We are still planning on taking my parents and going with my five brothers and sisters and their spouses on a 3-4 day cruise, probably to the Caribbean."

Was The Big Win Everything You Dreamed?
"First you have to understand that the win was a shock to us and helped us out financially for the future. Second, We had the opportunity to literally travel around the world with first class accommodations and meet people who we truly liked and respected. Third, If we had not won the money we would still have each other and our families. We like to think of ourselves as just lucky."

Do You Have Any Tips For Winning?
"Always play within your means, we had invested a total of $63.00 when we won and look for the Microgaming symbol at any casino you play. Then you can have fun, have a chance to win BIG money and when and if you do, you can be sure you will get paid."

It is great to see that Tony is still celebrating his massive win. It just goes to show that if you are in the right place at the right time your life can change with just one or two clicks of your mouse.
