When Treasure Nile was launched by Microgaming back in July of 2001
we predicted that it might well be the game to take the top spot away
from Cash Splash. It took just under two years for the game to pay out
more than Cash Splash has paid out in five. Last year alone over $7,000,000
was won.

In total since launch over $15,000,000 has been won on the popular game. It's
popularity is not surprising. It always has a jackpot of at least $40,000 waiting
to be won and with a max bet of $4.50 this represents quite good value. There
are not many games online where $4.50 can win you as much.
The game was also the first true video slot to appear online. It was the first
game to have nine lines and also the first game to incorporate a scatter symbol
into the winning combinations line up.
It also uses an Egyptian theme which seems to be one of the most popular among
players.
While the jackpot starts at $40,000 we have seen some really big winners. In
December of last year it paid out
$760,770.09 to seven players - an average jackpot of $108,681. The biggest
win on 2003 was $346,822.91 hit in June and the game record still stands at
$520,625.09 won in 2001.
Like all progressive in the Microgaming line up, Treasure Nile is linked to
all of the casinos. This means that the same jackpot is available at over 70
different sites and that players bets from all of the sites add to the progressive
jackpot total. This is the key to the fast growing, frequently hit jackpots.
Rumor has it that Microgaming is working on releasing five reel versions of
the other games such as Cash Splash to give players who like video slot machines
more options when it comes to going for big jackpots.
