If you are a fan of the Jackpot Party video slot from WMS Gaming then Age of Discovery should be high on your list of games to play as it has the same style of bonus game. The game uses the Microgaming five reel, twenty five line format and has an adventure / pirate theme.
You have a very wide range of betting options with this game. You can play 1 to 10 coins per line and choose from seven different coin sizes. All wins are multiplied by your line bet so the top jackpot of 6,000 coins is actually 60,000 at max bet - not a bad win even at the once cent coin size!
The bonus game is activated by hitting three or more scattered compass symbols anywhere on the reels. You are then taken to the Treasure Map Bonus where you get to dig for treasure (View Screenshot). Just like Jackpot Party you get to keep picking until you pick one of the Party Poopers which in this case are Skulls which ends the bonus game.
Wins on the bonus range from 500 to 5000 coins with top top possible prize being 32,250 if you can pick all of the prize while avoiding all three skulls.
If you are not familiar with Jackpot Party then it is worth noting that this bonus can be good and bad. It is great if you manage to avoid the skulls but it does happen that you pick a skull on the first pick and end the bonus with nothing. This can be annoying but there is still a consolation prize awarded.
Apart from the bonus game this is a fairly straight forward 25 line game. The wild symbol offers the top prize and substitutes for everything other than the scatters and bonus symbols. There are three other nice pays of 1000, 800 and 600 for the ships, crest and navigation tool (10000, 8000 and 6000 at max).
